What is the difference between C10100 and C10200 copper?

C10100 (OFE - Oxygen-Free Electronic) is a high-purity copper alloy containing at least 99.99% copper, with an oxygen content limited to under 5 ppm. C10200 (OF - Oxygen-Free) contains at least 99.95% copper, with oxygen limited to under 10 ppm. C10100 offers slightly higher electrical conductivity and is optimized for ultra-high-vacuum configurations.

Why does oxygen-free copper resist hydrogen embrittlement?

Standard copper contains cuprous oxide particles. At high temperatures in hydrogen environments, hydrogen can diffuse into the copper and react with oxygen to form high-pressure steam pockets. This steam forms micro-cracks along the grain boundaries, causing mechanical failure. Because oxygen-free copper lacks oxide particles, this reaction does not occur, ensuring material integrity.

Can you supply custom wire shapes beyond round sections?

Yes. Using advanced cold extrusion and high-precision drawing dies, we produce custom profiles, including flat wire, rectangular busbar wire, square wires, and multi-grooved profiles designed to meet specific engineering layouts.

What is your typical turnaround time for global orders?

Standard shapes and stock alloys are dispatched within 7–15 days. Custom dimensions or complex alloy formulations (such as specific tellurium or beryllium copper requirements) are scheduled based on manufacturing and drawing times, typically ranging from 25 to 40 days.

How does tellurium addition affect oxygen-free copper?

Adding trace amount of tellurium (as in C14500) significantly improves the copper's machinability. Standard pure copper is soft and gummy to machine, causing tool wear and burrs. Tellurium breaks up copper chips easily during high-speed CNC cutting while preserving over 93-98% of standard copper's electrical conductivity.
